2002 Nicaragua Impact Week Report

Dear Prayer Warriors and Supporters,

Thanks so much for helping me and my son, William, have a wonderful trip to Nicaragua,
April 11 - 21, 2002.

We worked with 26 team members from the USA, Mexico, and New Zealand. The team had 130 meetings in 7 days in 12 towns. There were approximately 8,000 people in attendance at all the meetings. About 100 people made first time decisions for the Lord. Glory to God!

215 Pastors and their wives from every denomination took part in 10 events specially designed for them, including 8 breakfasts, a marriage seminar and a women's retreat.

There were united women's meetings in 7 areas attended by at least 1500. Women gave their hearts to the Lord, and were released by the power of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel.

Here is some of the team pictured with suitcases full of gifts that we brought for the pastors and their wives and for the schools.

William brought some of his McDonalds toys and had fun distributing them to these school children. Their school is located on the YWAM base where our team was housed.

Thanks so much for praying for Will. He had a great trip and worked hard on being helpful.

The kids also really enjoyed watching William demonstrate his trampoline skills.
They shouted "Mas alto!" ("Higher") to egg him on.
  What a treat! We got to see a real oxcart! . . .  ' O ' for oxcart!

And by the way, the team gave me a wonderful birthday party for my 50th, with cake and all.

And the best present was, that I got to be in Nicaragua and speak Spanish for a week! I noticed a real improvement in my ability to communicate,

Praise The Lord!

I had many wonderful concerts, including a park concert with these precious Pastors,
  Jairo and Brenda Obregón
in Nindiri.

Please pray for these young pioneers. They have won over 100 souls to Christ in the past year. What an honor it was to be able to encourage them in the work of the Lord!

Paulette Marks, from Dayton, Ohio, came with me.

She has experienced an awesome miracle of the Lord giving her the ability to worship Him in dance, even though she had to have her knee removed!

In this photo, Paulette is on the left. She is leading the congregation in a Hebrew dance, and the young lady pictured with her received Jesus at the end of this service.

Tonya Reed, from Pittsburgh, also came with me to help with Will. She was a big help and also is becoming a wonderful preacher.

Fishnetters is a new missions helping organization that Tonya and I are launching. The next report I send will tell you more about how you can help us follow up on the wonderful relationships that the Lord is networking.

Pray! It looks like the next two trips will be next fall, to Ireland and to Pakistan!

        Love in Jesus,
